What are the states of matter and how are they different? By experimenting with a self-inflating balloon and five provided substances, students will explore the different states of matter and changes between them. This will lead to an understanding of the observed physical properties of the substances. The concepts of conservation of mass and that matter is made of particles too small to be seen will be discussed. (5-PS1-1, 5-PS1-4)
